Albert Stagura

Albert Stagura (1866 - 1947) was active/lived in Germany.  Albert Stagura is known for Landscape; painter of the Munich school.

The artist's name is Albert Stagura. They were a German painter and pastel draftsman born in Dresden in 1866. Stagura studied at the academy in Dresden with Leon Pohle and were a master student of Friedrich Preller the Elder. In 1904, the artist moved to Dießen am Ammersee and exhibited at the Kunstverein Plauen. They were represented in the exhibitions of the Munich Glass Palace from 1906 and were conferred the title of professor. In 1914, they were awarded the Great Golden Austrian State Medal. The artist moved to Munich in 1918 and was a member of the board of directors of Munich Artists' cooperative from 1920-25. They first visited the Chiemsee in 1926 and spent the summer months in Gstadt from then on. In 1944, their studio and most of their works were destroyed in the bombing of Munich. The artist now lived permanently in Gstadt am Chiemsee and was a member of the Reich Association of Fine Artists and the Munich Artists' Cooperative.   ...  [Displaying 953 of 1569 characters.]  Artist bio
